Her Turn to Shine Now
November 28, 2007
H
i. It’s Wednesday. I’ve had delivery sushi two nights in a row. And believe me: I’m not apologizing. I love my new job, and I will soon have some URLs to toss up in this bitch, but in the meantime, I was thinking about how the tree at Rockefeller Center is being lit up in NYC tonight. As I write this, in fact. And as I learned about on NY1 this morning--as I ate my cereal and got ready for work (on Facebook, one of two groups I belong to is “I Love It When Pat Kiernan Reads Me Headlines in the Morning”)--the tree will be “more green” than last year. Apparently, that means the lights will be energy-saving. Awesome; well-played, Rockefeller Center. I just can’t believe there are real trees that are more than 80 feet. It’s taken me 33 long years to reach 5’2”. Is it right that we cut down such a giant? Well, too late for that discussion now. Let’s appreciate the tree, people. It’s her turn to shine.
