Awards Shows Are My Zen

N
o less than Bono called it the best Grammys he’d ever seen. So who am I to argue? Then again, I tanked in my office pool—too much Kanye and Usher in my predictions, not enough Ray Charles. But the performances were inspired: Alicia Keys and Jamie Foxx, Joss Stone and (a bald) Melissa Etheridge, Green Day, who rightly took home honors for the Best Rock album of the year. Hell, I may even like John Mayer now. And how can I resist a star-studded performance of my favorite Beatles song? But the best Grammy moment, hands-down, was Loretta Lynn accepting her award with Jack White and his mustache.
Loretta: “Jack, I would like to thank the, the Grammy people.”
Jack: “Yes, ma’am.”
