never met Dimebag Darrell, but I interviewed his brother Vinnie Paul once, right before Damageplan released their first album. Considering he's one of the legends of thrash metal, Vinnie was a bit of a teddy bear (albeit a lewd, crass, perverted teddy bear). That week, he hosted a CD release party at his all-nude strip joint The Clubhouse, so of course I had to go. It was kind of creepy, to be honest, but whatever. It was different.

The news of Dimebag's death is eerie, frightening. Although reports are vague, one insinuates Vinnie Paul was also hit and quotes a cop as saying there's only one death in the band "so far." In memory of Dimebag--and in hopes that Vinnie recovers soon--I post this interview from last February.
